RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for RRB Group D are prescribed based on the nationality, educational qualifications, and age limits. Only candidates who meet the prescribed RRB Group D eligibility conditions will proceed through the recruitment process. According to the new update for RRB Group D 2026, aspirants who have a CCAA passed certificate can also apply for the Railway Group D CCAA Recruitment 2026.
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
a. a citizen of India, or
b. a citizen of Nepal, or
c. a subject of Bhutan, or
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Uganda, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
f. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Education Qualification
- Candidates with a 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT are eligible to apply for the RRB Group D 2026 Exam.
- Candidates with Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified.
- Those awaiting the results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have completed Course Complete Act Apprentices from any trade.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
Candidates aged between 18 and 33 years as on January 1, 2026 are eligible to apply for the Railway RRB Group D examination. Age relaxation will be applicable according to prescribed rules and guidelines.
Medical Standards
Candidates selected for Document Verification (DV) must pass the medical fitness exam conducted by the Railway Administration. This ensures that they are medically fit to perform the duties of the position(s) they have applied for.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for various Group D posts will include the following stages-
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) will evaluate candidates’ knowledge in subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a test that measures physical fitness and includes activities like long jump, running, and high jump.
- Medical Examination will be carried out to check the candidate’s overall health and fitness for the specific post.
- Document Verification is conducted to validate that all details submitted in the application are correct and authentic.
RRB Group D 2026 Level 1 Exam Pattern
The Railway Administration also reserves the right to conduct the CBT in one stage or CBT in two stages, depending on the number of eligible applicants. Candidates shortlisted in the CBT will be called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. For every wrong answer in the CBT, 1/3 marks will be deducted as negative marking.

RRB Group D 2026 Application Fee
Candidates who are applying for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 should pay the application fee as specified in the following table. The payment must be made online through debit cards, credit cards or net banking.

Refund Amount (On Appearing For CBT)
- For GEN/OBC: Out of this fee of Rs 500/- an amount of Rs 400 will be refunded after deducting bank charges, when you appear for the 1st Stage CBT.
- ForSC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Sm/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward: This fee of Rs 250 will be refunded after deducting bank charges when you appear for the 1st Stage CBT.

RRB Group D 2026 Application Form
As per the brief notification, the RRB group D online application procedure will be available from 21 January to 20 February 2026. Candidates intending to apply for RRB Group D vacancies are required to submit their online application within this timeframe to be eligible to participate in the RRB Group D Level 1 Examination 2026.
RRB Group D 2026 Admit Card
The CBT admit card is expected to be released approximately 10 days before the exam. The PET admit card will be issued only to those candidates who have successfully qualified the RRB Group D Level-I 2026 CBT. To access the official Railway Recruitment Board website, a candidate must have:

RRB Group D 2026 Answer Key
The Railway Recruitment Board will release the provisional answer key with correct answers to the questions after exam is completed. Candidates can raise objections against the answer key after paying a specified fee. Once the exam authorities review all objections, the final answer key will be published.
RRB Group D 2026 Result
Results of the CBT will be announced by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) after the completion of whole exam. The results for the CBT will be announced first. Candidates who are successful in the CBT will be eligible to appear for the PET of the Railway Group D 2026 Exam. The PET results will be released once the Railway Recruitment Board has conducted the physical efficiency test for both men and women Once all objections are reviewed.

Steps to Apply for Railway RRB Group D Recruitment 2026
Candidates have to submit their online applications for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 by following the below-mentioned steps.
- Visit the official website http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.
- Click on the “New Registration” tab.
- Register for the exam and submit the required details like name, date of birth and father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric registration number, year of passing, mobile number, email ID and other required details & click submit.
- At the time of registration, candidates need to verify their email ID and mobile number through OTP.
- Log on to Home page with the registration number and password.
- In Part I of the application page, candidates had to provide the details of educational qualification, community, gender, religion, Ex-Servicemen, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward Class Age Relaxation and other details.
- In Part II of the application page, candidates had to indicate his/her priority/preference for the posts.
- On completion of application details, candidates were redirected to the payment page using Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan.
- Candidates had to select the exam language.
- Candidates had to fill in the details of a valid photo ID card.
- Enter bank details to get the refund of payment.
- Candidates needed to upload their scanned images of photographs and signatures as per the format and SC/ST candidates were required to upload the category certificates.
- Applicants were required to accept the T&C and fill application form.
